About Lake District Minerals

I have been collecting mineral specimens for 40+ years, particularly from the English Lake District.  During that time there have been many changes with increased restrictions on collecting, the loss of some collecting sites, occasionally the creation of temporary collecting opportunities, and the general denudation of established sites.   However, with dedicated collecting I've been fortunate enough to have made new discoveries from established sites and discover previously unknown sites.  Good mineral samples can still be found and it is my intention, through this website, to make this material available to others with an interest in the area.
